Susan Jones

Founder of Acupuncture Yourself • Psychologist • Acupuncturist • Mother of Five

Susan Jones grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, and earned her undergraduate degree from Furman University. She went on to receive a Master’s in Psychology from Immaculata University and began her professional career working as a psychologist, specializing in the treatment of adult male sex offenders and survivors of sexual abuse.

After practicing psychology for eight years, Susan felt called to deepen her understanding of healing and pursued a second master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Maryland. For the past 27 years, she has integrated her background in psychology with acupuncture to offer a powerful, mind-body approach to healing.

While raising her four daughters, Susan nurtured their creativity and independence — and her daughters went on to form a four-sister girl band. During their childhood, they spent six magical years on tour with Kenny Rogers, performing in a beloved Christmas show he wrote. Kenny served as a remarkable role model for the girls, inspiring them during their most formative years with his generosity, professionalism, and artistic excellence.

As the girls grew older, their music career led the family to New York City and later to Nashville, Tennessee, where the band was signed by Sony Music. While supporting her daughters’ musical journey, Susan also launched Nashville Scooter Tours, a fun and educational experience that brought attention to climate change and electric vehicles through guided rides around the city.

After the 4 girls were grown, Susan moved to Bangkok, Thailand, where she continued her acupuncture practice and founded Best Bangkok Tours, offering visitors scooter-based cultural tours with Thai drivers through one of the world’s most dynamic cities. During her 12 years in Bangkok, she adopted a Thai baby girl, who is now six years old.

Today, Susan lives in Da Nang, Vietnam, where she leads immersive self-acupuncture retreats at the Intercontinental Resort. She brings a lifetime of professional expertise, creative spirit, and personal wisdom to every retreat — helping others reconnect with the healing power that lives within.
